My charming detached cottage is located in a romantic mountain village on a river. The little house is located in a cul-de-sac, so it is very quiet and private. Hiking trails start directly from the cottage to the mountains around the old village. The nature of the Pyrenees is very beautiful here: snowy mountains, green valleys, deep lakes, raging rivers, dark forests, rare plants and wild animals. In the fairy tale villages in the valley are markets, medieval churches, cathedrals and castles.
The charming old house is small but equipped with all the basics and recently renovated. On the ground floor there is a wood stove (free wood is provided), an equipped kitchen, a fridge freezer and a washing machine. Upstairs is a bedroom with heating, a double bed, a bath and toilet en suite. You will have the house completely to yourself: it is detached so there are no direct neighbors and the owners are not there.
There are weekly markets in the old villages in the area, such as the famous market in Saint-Girons. Visit the medieval churches (Castillion), cathedrals (Saint-Lizier), castles (Foix and prehistoric caves (Niaux). Famous walks in the area lead to Cirque de la Plagne, Refuge de l'étang d'Araing, the Pic de Crabère 2629m and the Mauberme 2880m. You can also go rafting, paragliding, climbing, mountain biking, cycling, trail running and skiing in the area.I have information about walks and activities available for you.
The cottage is ideal for a romantic stay for two, but if you want to come with three, that is also possible. Pillows, blankets and mattresses are provided for 3 people. However, towels and bed linen are provided for 2. All basics are available in the kitchen for 3 people. Gas, wood (!), (warm) water and electricity are included in the standard price. So there are no additional charges only if you want clean towels and bed linen. The house has no garden.
